| Due to Malawi's return to the 'old' academic calendar, there will be only ten days between Graduation Day (27 August) at the Evangelical Bible College of Malawi and the arrival of the new intake of students for the 2010-2011academic year which begins on Tuesday 7 September.
Obviously this gives little time for the staff, who have already taught through three terms this year, to take even the shortest break and they need our prayers for strength and freshness as they receive the new students and those who are returning for the second and third years of their studies.
Our main concern at this time, however, is for the students themselves. The question is whether all those who have been accepted will be there!

David Waite , who trained at EBCoM, is now Co-ordinator of
Evangelism and Church Planting in Mozambigue.
Through the years Zambesi Mission has been privileged, through the generosity of Churches and individuals here in the UK, to obtain sponsorship for good numbers of men and women to train for work in the evangelical Churches of Malawi. Many have gone out as pastors, others as Church planting evangelists, and still more as leaders in ladies, youth and children's ministries.
The Churches in Malawi and, more especially, in Mozambique are still in great need of well trained leaders but sadly the finance is no longer there for ZM to support all those who have been accepted for study.

Robert Yanduya , former EBCoM student, now teaching at the College
At the present moment this means that three men from Mozambique who have already been awarded places in the college together with several more who have not been called for interview will have no chance of undertaking the Bible training they - and the Churches - so badly need.
Please join us in asking the Lord to supply the finance so that, even at this late stage, some of these prospective students can be invited to take up places for the new college year. And if your, or your Church, are in a position to give some help please let us know.
A full year's sponsorship now costs £817 which is usually made up of gifts from several sponsors
so any contribution is greatly valued by everyone concerned about equipping leaders for the growing Churches in Malawi and Mozambique . |
If you are able to help we will be glad to send you a photo and a few personal details of the student assisted by your gift to aid you as you pray.
We thank God for the college, for its dedicated staff team and for all the students who hope to study during this new academic year.
Please pray that they will all be there !

Michael John Phiri , who was sponsored by a UK Church through
his studies at both EBCoM and university, is now College Principal.
