The annual 'bookset' conferences for Church Leaders have been running for six years during which hundreds of pastors have benefited from the Bible teaching & discussion, the fellowship & food these events have given. In addition, every participant has left with a pack of fifteen or so books to help them with their personal devotions and their public preaching.
Pastors Conference 2007
We praise God for the involvement of Rev Timothy Alford who has taught in each conference and for Rev Andrew Docherty and Rev Richard Underwood who have also travelled from the UK to help. They have been very ably supported by EBCoM staff members and national Christians.
The books have been obtained and sent with the help Pastors Training International and purchased by many friends of ZM here in the UK. Last year for the first time, it was possible to include a couple
of booklets in Chichewa one of which was translated in Malawi from the writings of Rev Colin Salter of Redruth. Colin and his wife, Brenda, worked in Sudan for a number of years and he has prepared a lot of Bible study resources for the Church in that country. We really value their fellowship and the permission given to use that material in Malawi

- This year for the first time we plan to have enough resources in the Chichewa language to call together leaders whose English is not good or, in some cases, non-existent. We hope they will include some from Mozambique.
- It is also hoped to include more Church elders in the conferences, a move that got underway last year. This is of crucial importance because in so many situations a Pastor has several Fellowships under his care which means that the teaching and discipleship are in the hands of Church elders for most of the time.

- for ZM's Abraham Folayan as he explores the various sources of books and booklets in Chichewa. We know the supply is limited but are looking to the Lord to enable Abraham and his fellow facilitators to assemble an acceptable and helpful pack.
- that we will have the finance to purchase the literature, the subsidize the travel and hospitality costs for participants from rural areas and to give some help to national Christians who travel to teach in the conferences
- wisdom to know the best dates and venues for the conferences - it is hoped to have at least two during the year
