Paul Shannon is the most recent person to join the Council
Paul joined towards the end of last year and recently made a two week visit to Malawi with his son
John.
He writes, “I am 44 years old, married to Anne-Marie for 18 years, with 2 children, Amy (16)
and John (13). I work as a Consultant Anaesthetist in Doncaster and I have a particular interest in
management and leadership, which takes up about half my working time. I was attracted to ZM by the
stories I heard about Malawi from David Faulkner (ZM Trustee) with whom I play in our music group at
church (Doncaster Evangelical Church). I was fascinated by the way ZM operates in the complex environment
of missionary work, Church, NGO's, and government, etc. I hope to contribute by considering the strategic
focus of ZM and how it might develop in the future.

The picture shows me visiting a fish pond in rural Malawi, standing next to a scarecrow.
Can you
tell who's who?”
The ZM Executive Council
Like most small organisations, Zambesi
Mission relies very much on the work of volunteers and over the years many friends have travelled far
and given many hours to sit on the UK Council.

The Council meeting in York June 2008
The Council usually has four meetings a year including a 2-3 day residential get-together based on
a ZM supporting Church. In recent years the Council has met in York Baptist Church with recent residential
meetings in locations as far apart as Soham in Cambridgeshire and Coatbridge in Scotland. |
