Early in December Myra and Bill Wilson flew back to the UK after 10 years of fruitful and fulfilling service in Malawi. Ten years which they describe as "among the most rewarding" of their whole lives.

Whether we focus on Bill as ZM Field Director, serving the Church, preaching, teaching, training, encouraging and inspiring: or Myra teaching theology and New Testament Greek, running the Walter Horton Clinic at EBCoM, leading worship at Chilomoni, or doing a sponsored run to help finance a new translation of the Scriptures into the Tonga language; they have each given themselves to the work, identifying with the people and enjoying God's grace as they did so.

There have been a few 'downs', of course, as well as the 'ups'. The most traumatic was when Bill had a dangerous bout of malaria. As Myra puts it, 'When I took him to the hospital I wasn't sure I was ever going to get him back'. Yet even at that lowest point, before she knew that he was going to pull through, the Lord brought blessing. 'I went to the hospital', says Myra, 'to see him at 6am before I went to college. He was on a drip and unconscious. But next to the bed on their knees were two Malawian pastors crying out to God for Bill".

Bill and Myra give thanks that much of what God did earlier in their lives was valuable preparation for Malawi. They have taken the Malawian people, especially the believers, to their hearts and those believers arranged many special Farewell events across the country during the weeks before they left.

We are thankful to God for all He has enabled this devoted couple to do during the decade they have spent serving Him and His Church in Africa. Now we are so pleased that they will continue to work with ZM here in the UK.

Bill and Myra are presently on leave until the end of April and will then take up their new roles as ZM representatives in Scotland.
