Christmas gifts which make a difference

In countries like ours many gifts are unwanted, soon rejected, duplicated or stored away and quickly forgotten. And at Christmas time in particular our dustbins have much more food inside them than the vast majority of people in this world have inside them. Here's a chance to give something to someone who has virtually nothing !

A bicycle for a Pastor

In Malawi a pastor often cares for several Churches and these can be miles apart. A cycle would be of great help in his ministry.

Sunday School Resources

Churches have large Sunday
Schools and Youth Groups but very few teaching materials.

A Bible

Many people have little hope of ever having a Bible and one way to help is to give some for a Church to use as a library.

A month's food for an orphan child

Most orphans are taken into homes which are already short of food and other basic resources. The Day Care Centres give nourishing meals as well as health care, clothing, education, Christian teaching and recreation

Goats & Chickens
for a family caring for orphans.

Two goats and four chickens will provide a livelihood ~ and more goats and chickens for
other families!

Study Books for Pastors

Many pastors and other Christian leaders are preaching and teaching
large companies of people but have no devotional or study materials to use in preparation. The books a pastor could receive upon leaving Bible College or attending a Pastors' Refresher Course will probably be the only ones he ever owns!

One year's fees for a youngster in Secondary Education

Junior Education is free in Malawi ..and that is as far as most children get! The level of poverty is such that most families cannot meet the costs of Secondary Schools. To help youngsters further their education is to greatly improve their employment prospects and the assistance they can give to their families.

Sponsoring a student in Bible College

It costs about £700 a year to sponsor someone studying at the Evangelical Bible College of Malawi ~ but any gift is a help! The rapidly growing Churches are in great need of trained leaders but there is very little likelihood of a Malawian receiving such training without such support.

If we can help please get in touch with one of the addresses listed below.
If you send a gift for Malawi on behalf of a particular friend or relative we can provide a simple Christmas card with a picture and a few sentences about your chosen project. If you let us have the details we can either send it directly to your friend or to you so that you can add your own greeting.

Please make cheques payable to Zambesi Mission.
