April 2005
New Nursery at EBCoM

The new nursery is now in full use providing and excellent facility for the families of third year students in particular. These men are encouraged to have their wives with them for the last year of their studies. The ladies attend a one year course in Biblical studies, pastoral care and practical matters to prepare them for future ministry alongside their husbands. The care of the children has often been an obstacle to this programme in the past so staff and students are praising God for this new nursery.

The picture shows Mrs Mercy Mkwezalamba, Co-ordinator of the Wives’ Course, with some of the ladies who attended in 2004 and graduated with their husbands last October.

Please pray for Mercy whose husband James was tragically killed in a road accident a year ago.

The Lord gave her many encouragements in the work with the ladies last year and we look to Him to strengthen her as she cares for her children and works with the larger number of wives in 2005.

New Graduates at EBCoM

EBCoM Graduation 2004

The ceremony was held outside for the first time and apart from a few threatening drops at the beginning the rain held of allowing the third year students to receive their graduation awards on 30 October 2004. It was an uplifting occasion with many contributions from staff, students and visitors.

New Workers at EBCoM

Please pray for all those who graduated and now go out into the pastorate and other key roles in the evangelical Churches of Malawi and Mozambique. Among the students graduating were ~

AMOS NYAMBO who hopes to go
on to further studies before taking
up youth and children’s work
MARY CHAOMBA who is taking responsibility for the ladies
ministries in the north of Malawi

New Students at EBCoM
  • College fees at the Evangelical Bible College of Malawi are minimal by our standards but the level of poverty is such that it is very unlikely that any student could continue to study without help from outside the country.

  • £500 covers a student’s fees for one year (£560 for those on the Diploma Couse where they need rather more costly books)

  • We thank God for a number of individuals and Churches already involved in sponsoring students who are training for leadership in the rapidly growing evangelical Churches in Malawi.

  • If you feel that you could help in any way at all please phone or write for some more details (ZAMBESI MISSION Tel: 01642 763681 or 01698 359067 or 01638 780537)

  • Frequently a student is helped by more than one sponsor so gifts of any size are greatly appreciated. We aim to send a photo and some details of the student to each sponsor for your interest and prayers.

Thank you for all your fellowship and support
