SUNDAY SCHOOLS

Most Zambesi Evangelical Chuches have large, active Sunday Schools. Classes
are frequently held in the open air because of the lack of adequate buildings.

They lack resources, too, and need help in a number of ways -

 Bibles
|
Few adults can afford to buy
their own Bible so it is very unlikely that a child will ever have one. They cost about £4.

Teaching
aids
|
Some Bible notes and teaching booklets are
now available. Visual aids of various kinds are needed.

Paper & pencils
|
Basic items like pens, pencils, paper and
rubbers are often not available even in day schools through lack of funds.

BIBLE NOTES & SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHING MATERIALS

|
These are in short supply and ZM would like to improve and reprint some
of the materials available and bring in other supplies from elsewhere in
Africa. Work among young people is thriving in both Malawi and Mozambique
but often Sunday Schools and Youth Groups are functioning without any teaching
materials at all.

SUNDAY SCHOOL TEACHER
TRAINING
|

Children for Christ Ministry (CFCM) was established in 2003 by students
at the Evangelical Bible College of Malawi (EBCoM), under the leadership
of
Annette Mapleson,
with the aim of reaching the children of Malawi with the gospel of
our
Lord
Jesus
Christ
and equipping
Children's
workers.
CFCM is an interdenominational faith project,
making no appeal for funds, but trusting God to supply every need.
Besides sharing the gospel with children through local School Clubs and Sunday
Schools, CFCM is also committed to the training of Sunday School teachers
and Children’s
Workers. The workers believe it is vitally important for teachers to be
trained properly so that they can be effective in their ministry to children.
Elevate Chadzera and Robert Gideon, who recently graduated from EBCoM is a sponsored
worked with CFCM. All other members of the team work in a voluntary capacity.
CFCM
therefore
has a Teacher Training Team which organises seminars in different locations
and we praise God for His evident blessing upon these training sessions.
CFCM also produces laminated visual aids including Bible Memory verses
in Chichewa, at affordable prices. When CFCM students graduate from EBCoM
they
continue to serve in this ministry.

of this work that it will be God honouring and effective in raising awareness
of
the tremendous needs amongst children today.
